Senior Project Engineer (CapEx Group)

Primary Purposes of Position
The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate and manage engineering projects from Concept Design through Implementation & Handover
Main Duties to be Performed:
• Project Procurement – Design, Equipment Vendors, Construction Contractors, Commissioning & Qualification.
• Manage the project through the stage Gate Process.
• Resource planning for the project engineering team.
• CapEx Approvals – Local & Corporate
• Project Planning - Manage the planning of the project to meet key milestones
• Cost Control
• Co-ordinate cross functional meetings to meet the objectives including Site Change Control Process
• Report project performance on a regular basis to management using project reporting systems.
Specifics of Position:
• Manage, Review & approve all design Interface between Customer Team & Designers, Vendors & Contractors to ensure owner requirements are fully captured in the project design and fully delivered at handover.
• Equipment Procurement & Contract Awards
• Prepare & Submit CapEx Applications at the appropriate stage gates.
• Manage the involvement of the customer team (both local & corporate) to the appropriate level.
• Ensure Owner Buy-in/Sign-off to the appropriate level at each stage gate.
• Coordinate & Manage the C&Q phase again ensuring Customer Team involvement at the appropriate level.
• Manage the Project Handover Process up to and including Documentation and Maintenance systems updated

Responsible for the adherence to our Site Safety Culture by means of the following mechanisms;
• Responsible for promoting a safety culture within their area and ensuring that plant personnel adhere to safe work practices and to standard operating procedures
• Carry out practical assessments of team members to ensure safety and quality compliance procedures are being adhered to.
• Ensure a safe work environment for all employees and any safety concerns are addressed promptly
• Ensure all accident/incidents/near misses are investigated in a timely manner and effective corrective and preventative actions are put in place to prevent re-occurrence
• Ensure closure of EHS actions raised from accidents/incidents, audits, risk assessments etc are managed and closed in a timely manner.
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained in the area
• Ensure risk assessments for the area are carried out, documented, reviewed and communicated to all relevant personnel in the area.
• Ensure Management of Change from an EHS and GMP perspective in accordance with site systems and procedures
• Responsible for ensuring that all safety and environmental related issues are investigated in a timely manner and that reports on the above are generated as required
Education:
- Ideal: Mechanical / Process Engineer
- Minimum -
- Languages English
Experience (Proficiency):
- Ideal: 15yrs
- Minimum 10yrs
Extensive Process Design & project management experience in Pharmaceutical industry
